@bigtiddyoneesan ; Does that make Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice a French game...? 👀

But that's fair, though is it an understandable mistake when you see said mistake so often made and the fact that learning this stuff was... middle school? 🤔

At least nobody's brought up the Kardashians in here. I think.

Heavily inspired, at least. The main character is literally an amphibian as a reference to French 'frogs'. I guess it's not too on the nose, which is why some people miss it.

And tbqh the only reason I typed "its an understandable mistake" was to see if you'd call out the typo "its."

But you didn't, which means I'm the better grammarist. That, or you just didn't want to embarrass me :\

@bigtiddyoneesan ;

That's actually kinda nice - never touched it because it's a parry-intensive game, but references and cool stuff are always appreciated.
Though asking if it was a French game was a joke - I don't think FromSoft is French considering their Soulsborne history - but they certainly do like to do their homework.
I may or may not have seen it because I was too busy fixing my own typos because it's almost 5am here.

@CyanHide If you had clicked on the link, you would have learned that Americans with guns went after those birds until there were none left.

>tfw western media is still trying to paint SnK as “alt right”
This shit’s picking back up because of the recent chapter and the recent episode and the Eldian citizens newly appropriated “shinzou wo sasageyo.”

These people can never define their own terminology.

Every time I look up the term “alt right,” the definition basically says “people I disagree with because they refuse to use mainstream media sites.”

People who disagree with you tend just want to call you a bad person, and so will use rhetorical tactics in order to vilify you

The terms “far right, white supremacist, Fascist, alt right,” etc are all essentially meant to make you be associated with the most toxic political ideology in the West: Nazism. It’s essentially like associating someone with the devil in Medieval Times, in that it’s a witch hunt more than anything

My experience of studying the Holocaust and speaking with survivors have lead me to the conclusion that we shouldn’t look at the Nazis as simply pure evil because that removes the human competent that caused otherwise good men capable of such horrific death and destruction that we are not immune to, and the manipulation of human psychological processes like “in group/outgroup” and scapegoating that’s facilitated their ability to harm innocent people.

It’s for this reason we need to be just as aware of the human faults of psychology and group think as we are of their beliefs in order to prevent ourselves from falling into similar thinking. Knowing Nazi ideology is not enough, but knowing the socioeconomic conditions of Germany, the rapid polarization of German Society at the end of the Weimar Republic, and psychological vulnerabilities of the people involved that could cause such wanton destruction and devastation.

It’s just that the left seems to have been spearheaded by the same factors they decry of collectivism, group think, and hyperpolarization. I’m not saying they’re Nazis, but they exhibit similar pitfalls because they have convinced themselves of their own righteousness, and so have grown blind to their faults.

Mainstream media is the type of media controlled by the shadow government, mega corporations and lizard people.
You should only get your news from anonymous posters on the internet and youtube channels your agree with.

@halo
Now you’re getting it. /s

Misconstruing other’s words in order to paint them as “crazed maniacs” isn’t a good look. All it shows it that you have nothing to add to a discussion beyond enraging people or inflaming others into making a scene.
(*looks in mirror*)

Not to mention the fact that you’re trying to discredit me by calling me mentally ill, schizophrenic. Sounds an awful lot like that ableism stuff people like to invoke nowadays.

Try harder next time, I look forward to catching it and pointing it out.

@tamerlane
I’m well aware.
I don’t hold anything against the Nazis. But explaining why makes me a monster in most people’s eyes.

Not to mention the fact that my Jewishness gets questioned whenever I logically explain why...

@kitsune_hellscythe
If you don’t use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and I’m sure there’s others I’m forgetting, then you’re a terrorist in waiting.

At least according to the news media, the users on the sites above and the government.

A lot of people on those sites repeat endlessly that SnK is the new “Mein Kampf.” Disregarding the fact that the main themes of the series is history repeats itself AND that the cycle of hatred is almost impossible to break.

But as @halo said, I’m sure the lizardmen shadow government is just stealing my tinfoil hat in order to fry my brain with 5G.

@wowfucktron ; So not using the toxic stuff makes me a potential psychopath despite said people using stuff like that? Hmmm...
Never really got into SnK mostly because the setting and story kind of don't intrigue me - I mean, giant skinless Titans? Sorry m8, not for me.

Facebook and Twitter are legit used to stalk people and find out who's easy to rob, though - can't imagine why people still use those things when it could very easily happen to them, too. 🤔
I did give the abridged a try though, funny stuff imho.
I may or may not have also blocked that person because they give off that "head so far up ass that you can see out the other end" vibe, but that's my opinion.

@wowfucktron Were you listening to the mainstream media again? The worst thing I can possibly do to you is to send the pensive emoji.

@2SpiritCherokeePrincess what? What birds? The Dodos? What link? I didn’t see what you were talking about at all, and don’t know where it is, that’s why I was asking for an explanation, but you’re just making me ask more questions.

It was the passenger pigeon, which went extinct over a century ago, so it's not really relevant to current discourse.

@wowfucktron

Interestingly, most of the Holocaust survivors I knew (quite a few past away) believed in forgiveness, and did not vilify all of the Germans, or even most of them because quite a few good people helped them to survive or tried to assist them.

Hell, even in the Nazi Party, you have individuals like Oskar Schindler or Hans Much which tried to save as many people as possible, which makes me think that we shouldn't treat Nazis as this indisputably evil boogieman, but instead the fault of human limitations and a demonstration of how far humans can go in terms of justifying their actions, and grim reminder not to let ourselves succumb to our fears, emotional outrage, and hatred. I don't hate the Nazis. I pity them to have fallen so far and sank into their own toxic beliefs to blame all others in a desperate attempt to keep a fractured nation whole.

One of my male role models growing up (he was a volunteer scout master) was an ex-Nazi.

He was in the Hitler Youth and was forcibly enlisted (conscripted) in the military after he turned 18. He told me it was either join and have food or die living in poverty at the edge of society and fear being trampled upon by the secret police. There was no morally correct choice for most people according to him.

He said most of the country knew what was going on due to word of mouth, but no one said anything or spoke up because life was good if you just lowered your head and ignored the world around you.

According to him, back then you didn’t care about where your mother got the money for the family’s food, so to speak. So long as you were all fed, you didn’t ask questions. He said most people were disgusted by what was going on but they stomached it and stayed quiet because the alternative was to suffer in squalor or to be thrown in prison for speaking up.

He said the general opinion of the German people in regards to the war was that Germany and the Axis would lose the moment America was provoked.

“Why didn’t you report him to the authorities?”
Everyone in my town growing up knew him and what he did. He was the embodiment of every form of guilt imaginable.

When I was a shitlord teenager, I asked him why he didn’t kill himself if he was so full of guilt and regret. He said that that wouldn’t be fair to the people who died. He said staying alive and suffering the weight of what he did (ignorance but he danced around if he worked at camps and I’m more than sure he did) was fair. But he also said that forcing his and other people from that time’s sins onto others from Germany was a horrible idea because it validates the Nazis ideology by giving them power even after they were gone.

And because life is stranger than fiction, the woman he married after immigrating to the US is Jewish. He said he fell in love with her because, and I quote, “the devil put the largest tits on those Jewish women.”

He was a Khazar Milkers poster before it was cool.
