Why the fuck would the terrorist just say where the trap is??
Even supposed extremists can break under torture. The problem is usually whether or not the information is reliable when given, not getting information out of them. Even if they think they're telling the truth, there's the possibility that they were lied to to keep important information contained to particular people only. Another thing is, tortured people tend to just say anything to make the pain stop. They'll say whatever they think you want to hear, whether they know anything or not, or lie as believably as possible with some prepared lines, or whatever. Regardless the information should be considered suspicious at best.
These realistic problems with torture for information are generally moot though, if the author doesn't want to make use of them for a twist or something.
