Going against the grain here, but I find this kind of story doesn't really work as a twitter comic. The twitter comics are fine experiments of short form storytelling, but they are not good at get-to-know-you character drama.

It's Capitalized Archetypes ("Loan Shark Thug with a Kind Side," "Pitiful Little Girl," "Asshole Mom") doing Capitalized Archetypes things, and the plot walks through the straightforward tearjerker route. A, then B, then C, now please cry. The characters aren't really characters beyond their literal Capitalized Archetype descriptions.

Not that short form comics can't tell character dramas or even sweeping epics, but they need different techniques, stylized expressiveness, a touch of poetry. They can't be drawn like your typical manga-just-with-fewer-pages like this one is.
