Seems overkill. There are three real criminals who used the absence of the king to implement their plan.
They deserve blame, along with some high-level professionals who whined about someone being more proficient at their jobs than they are, if you stretch things a bit.
The king and most citizens are probably innocent and don't deserve to fall to a demon invasion as a result.
Maybe, but it seems like everyone was pushing work onto her. Plus the first chapter says a lot of people were resentful because she took their jobs.

For anyone interested I think the manga is this one: Yuiitsu Muni no Saikyou Tamer

That's the one, thanks for doing the work I skipped out on.

Not exactly. Her family pushed every kind of roles onto her as "the bare minimum a saintess would do". And her every success increased the expectations, making them add to her workload again. I'm not sure if they intended to break her with overwork from the beginning or it became the goal later on, but the people of the country didn't ask her to do all of this until it just became her usual routine.
She never knew what exactly the work of a saintess is, so she just took whatever she was told as truth.

I mentioned them (the second line you quoted from me), but they seemed to be a minority.
Because she wasn't doing everybody's work, only the work of a few professionals. And as it looks, she took the work that they couldn't (or couldn't be bothered to) do in the first place. So, the complaints were mostly from people who were upset that she made them look bad or useless.

This is shown later as some of the work she used to do was not picked up by others. Even in her absence, those people were too busy not working to pick up their own roles again. They just expected the younger sister to pick up those tasks herself, underlining the hypocrisy of their former complaints.

don't have much to say that hasn't been said. I like the little sister, wishing her safety and protection. she has her priorities with those whom she respects and loves, even more than her greedy father-mother
