Ah, this cliche again. MC(s) is suppose to be much older than they look but they nevertheless acted like a child. There's literally no point to the Isekai element now if the author is just going to regress their mental age altogether.
Yeap, this just ruined the whole story for me. Author is basically just writing forced drama here.

I generally let these clichés go since in my mind I can explain it with them having the brain of a child. Even if they get their memory and a trace of their maturity, the brain is still developing thus inducing more child-like behavior.

While this explanation is full of holes, it's enough for me to brush off most instances. (Although this one is quite extreme in this case, it might've been caused as trauma, after all the earliest years are what sets our mindset, in this case their suspicion and difficulty of trust)

Its kinda nonsensical yeah but if you think about how long they were abused (and we don't know the extent of what Rurahel did, just that it was bad enough to leave scars) perhaps some Stockholm syndrome is mixed in there as well? We don't really know the details of their abuse, it could have been emotional and psychological too. So perhaps it contributes to a regressed mindset? Or maybe I'm just reaching? Either way, Rurahel is a bitch.

Why are they upset about not being written in a book when they know there is a lot of royalty out there that already have a huge dislike for them just from not being pure?
This is not new information and they had already gone through being sad over this in previous chapters, so why are we being shown this again as if it was completely new to them?

a lot of ppl are dissing them for being sad but ur comments show the reason why they have the right to be sad/don't act exactly with 25 yr old mindsets. ngl it's kind of harsh to say that they shouldn't be upset abt how they're treated in society especially bc they didn't ask to be adopted by the emperor and didn't completely grow up in high society since they are illegitimate children. that kind of stuff slips just in general, not all isekai mcs need to be op and since they're people, they have emotions.

on another note i can feel like their guardian will reveal his identity soon, and they'll probably be able to gain more confidence against that duke's son and everyone else who's badmouthing them lmfao
