@Ultrabenosaurus your first time read the shoujo? do you knows, 80% of shoiujo mangaka are woman and 80% of their contents are all about cold guy abuse main character by words, rape, kill.. for the plot.

@CongNong no, it isn't the first time I've read shoujo manga. I've read a fair bit. My experience is absolutely not that 80% of shoujo manga have rapists as male leads, and they certainly don't usually have him raping the MC in the first chapter - this is the first time I've seen that in the first chapter. I can't actually remember another shoujo manga that has been anywhere close to having a male lead rape the MC at all. Sure, they often have cold or assertive male leads. But 80% having abusive or rapist male leads? What the hell have you been reading to think that?! If it was so common in shoujo manga this chapter wouldn't have been so disturbing to me.
Also, let's say for argument's sake that it's true and 80% have abusive and rapist male leads, how exactly does that make rape and abuse okay?
So disappointing, seeing that sort of comment immediately after @AnimefangirlX said they felt better about seeing other people on "our side" (see: the side that doesn't approve of rape and abuse).

Unfortunately the "abusive male lead" trope is distressingly common in Chinese "romantic" manhua, to the point where you should just walk away when you see the words "CEO" or "wife" in the title. It is much less common in Korean and Japanese, which is why it is usually called out when it appears. It still appears in Western media as well, but much less commonly in modern times.
However the problem, as you said, isn't whether such plots exist or not, but whether it's okay for even one series to portray abusive partners as acceptable, nay, even desirable. And the answer is no.
Even more worrying for me, however, is the fact that very few readers can even recognize that there's a problem with the male lead in Living as the Tyrant's Older Sister. Manga readers are overwhelmingly young, privileged and educated, so for them to fail to recognize a case of non-consent as clear cut as this one is more than a little disturbing. Society has a loooong way to go.

if you want romance then just don't read this because 67 chapters so far and barely any fucking progress hence why I'm dropping it. the characters in general just anger me and everything is sooooo slow paced like why tf we taking so long for something to actually happen. I was so hooked on the first chapter (like very hyped) but then everything started to irk me and now I JUST HATE IT SOOOO BYE. can't say I enjoyed my time.

@AnimefangirlX ok when was it rape?!!?! i am sorry but the FL clearly stated that they both consented to do it the only thing Ares did wrong was lie about his name!!!! and in chapter 1 the FL was tired from the round 1 of they sexual activity nothing there about rape if you read the whole the series properly she went with to the bedroom with him, so she can tie Lancelot to her through sex since he is a very responsible person. ML got consent from FL the only thing he did wrong was lie about his identity which i remind you many ppl do from time to time so in conclusion ML is not all bad so i cant believe you dare compare him with all other Chinese CEO's this has no rape so far after all he isn't the type of guy to force a lady into doing something she doesn't want and FL doesn't look like the type to things lying down after all that's if you have the read the series properly then you can see why people don't claim this as rape because at the end of f**k*** day she said yes to the ML even though she the identities mixed up 😒

Have you read the whole thread, especially the breakdown of chapter 1 that @Ultrabenosaurus did on page 3? It's precisely because of your post that this series worries me. People just don't seem to understand consent laws.
If the FL, or indeed anybody, says yes to having sex, and then changes their mind and asks their partner to stop, the partner must stop. If they do not stop, anything that happens after that is rape. People are allowed to change their minds. Unless there's a legal contract stating otherwise, no one must be forced to do something they do not wish to do, even if they initially agreed.

Page 9: she tells him to stop
Page 12: he pushes her down
Page 13: he commands her to stop resisting
Page 14: his hand is in hers, holding her down from above
Pages 15-16: she tries talking to him, he ignores her and does ~something~ that makes her moan - rape or something else sexual
Page 20: she says that he hurt her during that ~something~, a sign of being forced
Pages 34-36: she wants to leave, he doesn't let her
Pages 50-53: he admits lying about his identity while looking for a girl to sleep with
At the very beginning she tells him to stop, he ignores her and commands her to stop resisting before forcing her under him. He then stops her from leaving and forces her to stay in bed with him, like she's an object or a prostitute he's paid for - which clearly isn't the case. How is any of that okay? How is that not sexual assault at the very least, if not actually rape?
So what if she was looking for a guy to sleep with? So what if she enjoyed the physical activity? Unlike what some American politicians and Christian groups say, or what some porn may tell you, the body can and will react to physical stimulus even if the person doesn't want to enjoy it. Physically enjoying it is not a sign that you wanted it or gave consent. If you get stabbed, can you just will the pain to go away or the blood to stop flowing out of the wound? No, of course not.
Once someone tells you to stop, it's over. Anything after that is sexual assault or rape. Consent can be revoked *at any point* and if the other person continues then *it is rape*. Just because she isn't kicking and screaming doesn't erase the fact she asked him to stop and he didn't. Being uncertain (as in her saying "let's stop" instead of "I do not want to have sex with you") is clearly not saying "yes" therefore it is not consent and it does revoke previously given consent; it shows she isn't certain that she wants it, therefore her partner cannot assume that she wants it. Anything except absolute confirmation is not consent, and anything that follows is rape or sexual assault.

You know what. I'm done. I'm so done with this manhwa. I can't anymore. I see no leaning towards the relationship becoming better. The premise was interesting, the MC and Lancelot were alright, I didn't mind her brother but in the end the Duke is the one that just had to ruin everything along with his subordinates. I'm personally not okay with his character or what he stands for so he can just go f*** himself.
Thank you for the translations thus far, I am grateful for the hard work the scantalation group has put into this and I admire their dedication and effort even if I will be dropping this series. All my respect goes to you.
As for anyone who is thinking of picking up this manhwa to read, I have but one thing to say and that is if you are not okay with aggressive and dismissive leads then I do not suggest this for you.

@K00K13 It's more like "aggressive and dismissive characters" because that applies to every single one of them, except maybe Lancelot. As I commented in the chapter thread, nobody in this series cares what anybody else wants. They're all selfish to ridiculous degrees and completely ignore other people's needs and desires.
This includes Alicia herself, who was originally planning to abandon her own brother to his death by seducing and blackmailing a man into marrying her. The less the said about the Duke, the better. Kai, whose potential for redemption is being slowly but surely squashed by the Duke. Justin, who repeatedly ridicules and infantilizes a grown woman, but isn't called out for his rampant sexism because people find him funny.
Then there are the actual villains of the series, who... have barely done anything yet. Even after 67 chapters. Are they even villains?
I went ahead and read spoilers on Novelupdates, so I'm done as well.

one thing i hate about this is the premise she was transmigated/reincarnated to this world.
im sure most of you forgot about it already.
there is no connection of her being the novel editor (i forgot what she was), to who she is now, she is just a character of the novel that knows the future.
what more is , she have a very nice backstory with a character "who was never mentioned" other than he left midway the novel.
edit: how did she have a backstory when she just suddenly woke up as alisha? does she have the previous alisha's memory? if so, why is she so fixated on her 'older brother' that she herself doesn't experienced.
or maybe it happened after she became alisha..

Seriously... Can this author include some fullbpdy drawings? Like, for real... My eyes hurt from all those face close-ups... this manhwa's art style has 0 dynamic, all of their poses are so damn static and pretty much copy pasta... Except the chibi memes...They're awesome. 👍

so you transmigrate from the modern world into a medieval type world where you know the future and you suddenly forget everything. you have enough intelligence and imagination to be able to analyze and create stories that enthrall the readers but you suddenly forget all of that. so being reborn in a medieval time reduced your IQ by 100 points and took away all your knowledge? then how the hell do you even remember your name? the author should've went with a different genre altogether.
