Mielle was so desperate to hold leverage over Aria that she didn't stop to consider what she was actually getting herself into. Aria has far more experience being around commoners, and she has shown to be far more understanding towards those who are new money due to being a like-minded businesswoman, as opposed to how Mielle holds a natural disdain against them due to being a passive aristocrat and is insulated from other cultures as a result.

Her suggesting the wife to pass her work onto a professional is a great example because she thinks that doing the heavy lifting when running the business should be considered lower in merit. But she's wrong. A successful business that's worked from the ground up would be owned by people who would be happy to do exactly that (and probably wouldn't entrust sensitive operations like accounting to strangers just yet). They also don't have the same materialistic attitude towards wealth as Mielle does, seeing as they're reluctant to accept such extravagant gifts. Sure they are proud of their wealth, but they're not here to attain the opulent lifestyle that old money is defined by. And there's her insensitivity towards their working schedules as well. God, her people skills are a mess compared to Aria's.

Just as I expected of this manhwa. The writing is so freaking good.

The way Mielle looked down on the people she INVITED in order to gain influence. You invite someone as guests and criticize their lifestyle choice? No ma'am.

And women working in the family business is good! If she can handle the work just fine, why must they waste money to hire someone else, especially one that would be handling sensitive matters like accounting and inventory?

Also it's so tacky to give an expensive gift to someone at the first meeting. It'll look like you're bribing them. The best gift for business acquaintances would be something tasteful, of good quality, but not super duper expensive.
