At first I was like, “Wow, Mielle looks so much more grown in this chapter. Even her outfit is cute and mature.” But nope, she’s still useless and easily led by the nose. Even Oscar doesn’t buy her act. I kinda feel bad that he’s still pining for Aria haha!

And Asher sending Rain! He’s probably all nervous about the rumors 😂😂

I guess we know who Mom sides with in a tight pickle. Her instinct at the first hint of danger is to grab Aria and gtfo! I wish we saw more of the mom. I get the feeling Aria gets a lot from her, even if the mom never had a chance to be properly educated like Aria did for herself.

@Aniseverse Since the prince is going take out the corruption in the aristocrat faction (which iris is part of), she does not have much support anymore due to some nobles either flaking out or try to avoid her. So in order to still have power over the prince, she decided to marry a foreign king

If they do anything to offend this king, war might go down and people may resent the prince for it

I love how quickly the mom was like "Let's GTFO" as soon as she finds out about the aristocrats ridiculous plan. Marrying a foreign prince?? That's crazy desperate, even for a noble like lady Isis.

Aria's mom is correct, they're basically inviting a war to hang on to any remnants of power they have.

@JWChibi I'm not sure if the manhwa mentioned it but iirc in the novel, they were never even formally engaged. Isis just constantly believed and called herself the future princess and everyone else believed it, so they all asssumed she would definitely marry Asterope. Aria has always been free to be with Asterope

I actually think the crown prince can't marry aria at the moment since she has no power right now. I don't think her investing schemes are that far-rooted yet to be useful enough against the nobles. It's also nice to know Oscar doesn't buy Mielle's BS lmao. But I do hope he finds someone who would reciprocate his feelings.

@redmikan yeah, the problem is obviously deeply rooted in politics. If he married MC he would probably loose a lot of benefit with the people loyal to the kingdom, because nobody except a select few know that she's actually clever and cunning, to most people she's pretty much all face no brain since she decided to hide her ideas.

And no matter how beautiful everyone says she is, I'm pretty sure they want someone capable instead of a trophy wife for him. In that regard, Isis really was a good fit, for better or worse.
