Masuda-sensei is such a good suspense writer. I'm so excited every chapter to see what's gonna happen next. Masuda-sensei's versatility when it comes to writing is so amazing and it all blends in so seamlessly. It's exactly what I loved about Jitsu Wa and it's exactly what I love about this series as well

Ooooh Masuda-sensei is really getting into these cliffhangers! Love it!

Just a quick note, there has been a question before about the use of the phrase "Unrequited Love" (片思い). I have checked and double checked and this is what's written in the raw. Now, I know that it might seem wrong but after thinking about it (and discussing it with readers in the Discord channel) it's very possible that Masuda is trying to emphasise that Nayu-chan, although she likes Hikoichi, isn't aware to what extent yet. This is the consensus we came to, but what do y'all think?
Thanks for the translation!
I am late to read and no way I read all the comments so I will say can puppy love or a crush replace that? I am not english speaker tho

Im not particularly wanting to change the original meaning so will stick with exactly what Masuda-sensei writes but thanks for the suggestion though!

I wonder now if we are gonna get Nayu’s perspective next chapter. She didn’t really have active participation in events this chapter and was completely absent last chapter

I'm sure she's got this look not only because she perceived he wanted to make a move, but because she also bought a gift for him but couldn't give it to him thanks to these 2 girls' discussion.

I just want to say that I disagree that adults shouldn't get excited. What's the point of living if you can't be happy? Why repress ourselves so much? It's one thing to let yourself go to the extremes, but I think it's fine if adults can still have some childish qualities if it makes them happy.

Well, as far as they know, their love is one-sided, and may not be returned. That is exactly what unrequited love is, IMO.

A situation like the one Nayu and Hikoichi have is sometimes called "mutually unrequited love" even though that's an oxymoron. The point is their mutual inability to move forward due to fear of being hurt/rejected rather than the actual meaning of the word "unrequited".
Yeah, I was just gonna mention that two-sided unrequited love isn't all that uncommon in manga. There's even a tag specifically named "Mutual Unrequited Love" on MangaUpdates.

Genuinely one of the few gimmicky concepts I can see being stretched out to the end of time without losing a hint of its charm.
