i see one piece the same way i see GoT, i will not even consider the thought that the bloody thing will be finished until its done and dusted or the author snuffs it.

GoT from the fact that he is a slow as hell writer, over weight and a perfectionist and for one piece it has been running for decades and its just now 50% done according to the mangaka.

Oda has actually said he intends to finish it within the next 5 yearsish then go on a trip around the world when he is 50, he is around 45 right now. He said it was 70-80% a year or two ago not 50%. Also, there are likely 4-5 arcs left including the current one based on things set up throughout the entire story, so one piece is relatively close to its end.

Unlike HxH where we probably won't see the end or like yuyu hakusho questionable ending

On that note i think murata did tell berserk was also "close" to the end in term of arcs
