His main "crime" is that he was a bit of an entitled little shit. The "Rejoice, for you've caught my favor" is kind of a shitty thing for a man to tell a woman with whom he already has basically all the power over in their relationship; it's not really rapey, but it's problematic in the, "You're only worth anything because I think you're worth something" kind of way.

Yeah, he sucks, but he doesn't "magical punishment" suck, he just "gets dumped" sucks.

If he was supposed to be worse, story should've shown him be worse

So, the interpretation of the curse returning is that the curse "sealed the dark demon lord", therefore upon return it "sealed darkness (black)" in the caster's bloodline? cause thats my best shot at correlating hair color with seal reversal.

To be fair, as far as I can tell, the "magical punishment" is that they changed his hair and eye color. Aesthetics aside, not really that much of a punishment.

Tbh, I can't really blame the prince, at the very least, he tried to get close with FML by taking her somewhere (even though it back fired tremendously). And also, the reversal curse thing doesn't even make sense. It's said that the curse affect the bloodline, yet it was the prince who caught it, not his father.

What makes you think his father didn't also catch it?

It's nice for a fiancée to talk shit once the engagement is broken off.

That curse recoil does seem kinda weak, but on the other hand, it didn't need to be particularly harsh. The prince was a douche, but it's not like he was ever going to make FMC happy, since she wanted a life separated from essentially her own naturalborn position.

Couldn't have that, because then the reprisal against a prince who was basically just a little bit entitled would make the FMC seem like the baddie.

Yeah, he got about as little as he deserved. But my issue is more that the curse's side effect was so weak.

I feel like plenty of readers wouldn't mind an actual villainous villainess though.

Nah, it wouldn't have made sense. As she said, she was always busy with her "crown princess training ". Why would she bother to harass someone who's existence she didn't even care about, with the little free time she had? Better to spend that time with the "demon king"

I assume for #2, instead of actively sabotaging the girl. She was more "I hope they fall in love and I get dumped". So she probably never hung out with the Prince, gave cold responses that didn't further the conversation.

Rather than being a "jealous villainess" she might have created opportunities for them.

He liked her, he took her around for joy walk; then she just found another man for herself, left with him and now the curse bounces back to the Prince.
Well, the Prince did the Annul thing, I guess. Maybe he was tricked by the other girl.
