Well if that ain't the thesis statement of the genre. The villainess is the real heroine.
Okay, this isn't the same whatsoever, but you've got to check out "Mother's Contract Marriage". It has a great story, told from the perspective of the daughter, with some of the best art I've ever seen in a webtoon. It has no official translation but this one is kept updated and is very high quality (the one on MangaDex hasn't been updated in 2 years). The cover does not do the best job of conveying the type of story it is so just give it a read. Not a villainess story but mentioning the parent being the one who experienced the reincarnating/regressing reminded me of it.I like the twist. The parent is the reincarnator instead of the "villainess", would read a full blown story about it.
not only that, mom was heroine who apparently got bad ending, realized "holy shit I was the heroine lol" a little too late, still enjoys her life afterward anyway.I like the twist. The parent is the reincarnator instead of the "villainess", would read a full blown story about it.
How about the reincarnator is the fmc aunt....I like the twist. The parent is the reincarnator instead of the "villainess", would read a full blown story about it.
yeah like this was a decent one-shot but I do wish some of these "villainesses" were actually evil or at least fit the orginal archetype in any way. Like, this MC has absolutely nothing to do with a villainess apart from being nobility. she doesn't even have drills for goodness' sake"The villainess is the true heroine" yeah that sums up my discontent with the genre nowadays

Yeah. Like I would like this a lot more if it weren't claiming to be a villainess story. A one shot about an isekaid Bad End heroine's daughter who just wants to live life as her mother's past influences their present and future would have been great. The little brother prince doesn't even need to be there tbhyeah like this was a decent one-shot but I do wish some of these "villainesses" were actually evil or at least fit the orginal archetype in any way. I assumed that was because he's very immersed in his hobby as a fossil lover coupled with the bachelor lifestyle, and not because of poverty. I mean he was a noble when they got married, he couldn't have been that poor. Also, how poor was her family before?? Her dad looked like he was about to die from lack of food.
