man, i really hope fushi doesn't forget the nameless boy. Just read the first chapter once again, and the scene of him asking fushi to never forget him is just too good. really hits the spot
Imo, the 1st chapter is the best chapter.
No need for word to feel it.

@RangoBongo the white boy already go to 'heaven', that's why we saw him meet other dead villagers at the last moment of his life

"The boy" isn't here because "the boy" is Fushi. Fushi became the boy. That's the significance of us never learning his name, I think, so we could see him as just Fushi. (And yeah he's moved on.) They have matching desires of experiencing the world and learning, so it's easy to see Fushi as carrying on for him--more directly than the others he's met.

Hmmm....

So when Tonari visited Bon in his youth, it was as a ghost.

THAT would explain the time issue. So 200 or so years HAD passed, but she was a ghost, and that was why she was still around and looking the same. Though it doesn't explain how people still knew what she looked like in order for her "famous" appearance to be an issue that time.

Anyway... whatever. This is still bullshit. The story has actively delved into the realm of self-contradiction.

Well, they really are now the immortal army
But it would've beem interesting keeping that feeling of "this loved one's gone and can't return to us" around :'/

@SotiCoto Books and drawings, it is that easy, in our world, we have pictures of people that lived 200 years ago.

She was a leader of a country, a doctor, and an adventurer, it isnt far fetched that she was an important figure to the point of being historic... and more than anything she isnt a 200 year old figure, 100 at most which makes it much easier to be remembered.

The story has weaknesses but this wasn't one of them.
