Feels like it tries to bring up an interesting question, but towards the latter half I started feeling like the story became somewhat messy and not really understandable. Unsure if it was the tl that suddenly got worse or what, but I am still not clear on what his answer at the end was to those two girls whether he loves the 2d character (and thus can fall in love with the coworker I assume took the gig because she loves him?) or the original VA (and presumably counting as a rejection for coworker?). And was he spamming the agency and not just sent one mail? And they knew but ignored him?
As for the question: when a vtuber changes owner, is it still the same vtuber?
I feel like the answer is fairly simply tbh. Granted, I follow neither idols nor vtubers, nor do I know any amnesiac, so maybe it is the 'wrong' answer.
No. Entertainment is a complex thing where all stars have to align, the performer matters just as the role they play does (particularly because as far as I understood it, vtubers are unscripted improv, like twitch streamers). But it also doesn't make it wrong to change owner (if you are clear about it being different). People will probably still like the chocolate-bar even if the brand was switched, but make sure to tell them, as not all do (mmm, a chocolate analogy).
I wrote way too much text (3 paragraphs, including one likening it to amnesia), then felt that meh, cba, and deleted it all to write the above paragraph. As I said the answer is simple, no need to go indepth on it
