Ok, now I am confused....was the girl in his memories Masha or Alya?
This is giving me Gotoubun ptsd :notlikethis:

Btw, for those who watched it....is the russian used in the anime okay/cool/cute? I'm thinking of giving it a try when the manga catches up with the anime (i dun want no spoilers)

Masachika is a coward, just shout I like type Alya the best and his money would've been spared from buying Shiruko or whatever.

Alya taking some shots in is so hilarious. I thought she said 'cyka' but it's a different cyrillic back there
And that sudden doodling by Alya is so funny
Kekeke, in this case "сука" meaning literally "bitch" as in "female dog", can also be used with a couple of caveats. First, it is quite surprisingly a gender-neutral term in russian, "сука" is a bit more offensive, "сучка" or "сучёнок" which are a diminutive forms, are a bit less offensive, so yeah, Alya could've said "сучёнок", but in this case here "скот(ина)" is much more appropriate.

I've only seen the trailers and some scenes. They hired VA that specializes in Russian (a big fan of Russian culture and stuff and even studied Russian at university I think), so the lines and pronunciation are decent.
However, there is a difference in vibes manga and anime Russian lines give off.
With manga I can imagine Alya being a proper bilingual and pronouncing the lines as any Russian native would (I am Russian native myself), so some lines really give me goosebumps.
In anime I clearly hear that it's Japanese pronouncing them and not a native. It does sound quite cute and there is a charm to it, but it is a charm of a cute foreigner girl speaking your native language.
Hope it'll give you an idea.
P.S. they used LN character designs and I like manga adaptation ones way more, so I am not sure I'll watch the anime.

You most definitely did, good soul. Especially since you're russian and so can give me that specific analysis/judgement I was looking for.
So, thank you very much.

The thing that makes high school romance work is that the characters are immature and don't like expressing their feelings honestly. I used to love this stuff when I was in high school myself, but now it just feels like these kids are being stupid. MC know that she likes him and he clearly likes her too, so why is he allowing these misunderstandings to continue to pile up?
