I have been enjoying this series, but this chapter annoyed me. It’s not remotely plausible that he can just dismiss “I love you”. Really, this should have moved the story into a new phase where he realises that she loves him, but is held back because he’s guilty and awkward about deceiving her. But apparently the author just wants to tread water 🙁
