Yeah I don't get it? Not only is he paying half the rent he's also cleaning/cooking/washing so yeah he's more then a normal roommate even. What does he mean by "freeloader"? She said that he will still pay rent, didn't she? It's just that he only need to pay half.
I think is his way of expressing how he is doing such little to live with her, of course it can also be that there is not quite another way of saying that he is "kinda a freeloader" in japanese , so I just went with it lolWhat does he mean by "freeloader"? She said that he will still pay rent, didn't she? It's just that he only need to pay half.
Yeah that makes sense. Japanese and their humilityThis freeloader thingy is probably some japanese thingy. It's like a habit for them, and in this case, it's something to undermine their value so as to not looking conceited or on an equal value with the house owner or smth like that.
If it comes up again I will try and find a better way to describe it.Hmmmm.... 'Freeloader' isn't a good term here but... A 'House Husband'...
You mean FAKE humility. I find it off-putting.Yeah that makes sense. Japanese and their humility
Agreed. Majority of their humility is very superficial. You mean FAKE humility. I find it off-putting.
"Oh, no! It's my fault that I didn't dodge out of the way of your car! Let me know how much I owe you to fix the dent.
