The ex was so comically evil but people like this do exist to some extent...

Also some darker underlying context as to why Tokimori has a trashed up apartment (and it's not just because she's lazy). Also explains her obsession with keeping up appearances at work.

Still though, that last panel shot damn.
no to some extent. Exactly like that.

Not really? From what was said and shown they were only together for a couple weeks and in the flashback she was already wearing her OL uniform, so probably is not something she devoloped by being together with him and was something already stablished on her personality at that point.
Yep, he tought she was "perfect" because of her work persona and just because she is, you know, a regular person he snapped on her.

This shot of MC looks very similar to another character but I can't recall it. Anybody have any ideas?

I see the resemblance, but I don't read that, so I'm probably thinking of someone else. For me it's the round head/haircut and stern face that stands out.

So MC lets himself be dragged away by his brother like a leaf in the wind but then suddenly becomes chad to save Tokimori. Come now some consistency please. Also why did she still have that abusive PoS's number?

Like, cool moment at the end, but why did this idiot let himself get drug out of his home by his brother without explaining things? Pretty moronic.
Akeru probably didn't even attempt to listen to him. He is in a rebellious stage after all.

Sugawa's gonna show that guy how a real man takes care of a girl.

I'm still annoyed at Akeru's behavior, but at least Sugawa didn't indulge him too much and went back him anyway.

It looks like Tokimori's dual personality makes sense now. She's a wreck at home because when she tried with her boyfriend, she was just abused. So she's perfect at work because she knows what to do, but she doesn't try anymore at home because of trauma.

It's a good thing Sugawa's teaching her that that she can rely on others to teach her how to live better. And that a man should also be taking care of the people he lives with, even if he has to do housework.

Yeah it baffles me in 2023 people still think "Female do all house work" even if they are the breadwinner. Even if my finace was jobless I'd still do half of the housework, like I live there too and make a mess so that's my responsibility.

Do they really have to make the protags so harmless looking, I get you have to draw the guy a lot, but damn I can't help but laugh with that goofy ass face.
if you happen to be a car enthusiast, "sleeper" is a term used to describe a car that looks like a common economical model, but what's under its hood can be something packed of torque and power xD

Agreed, I'll say though despite the trope, it's positively refreshing to see "housework is a woman's job" as a villainous line in a seinen manga, because that's how usually women are depicted after settling down with the MC. That's the usual "happy ending" I hope we won't see in this manga, if anything, for variety sake.
The line may be outdated, but is it bad for a woman to be a housewife? I don't think so, not if it's what the woman wants to do. I also don't think it's as demeaning or makes a woman as less of a 'woman' than she would be in another job, much less whether she can do housework or cook. Women have as much freedom to decide what they do with their time as men do.

Obviously, Tokimori's ex wants a housewife. Is that a bad thing? No, he's allowed to have preferences in women just as women do for men, no matter their character or the height of their standards (not like they'll have as much of a chance with them, anyway). Tokimori just happens to be a woman that doesn't fit the ex's preferences.

There are other women out there who are a better fit for the role he's looking for, he should have realized it sooner, break up with Tokimori, and have both of them go their separate ways. It would be harsh, yes, but it wouldn't make the ex nearly as bad as he's depicted here who obviously wants everything out of her, despite how busy she already is with her own job, something he should have seen waaaay early on.

I'm not defending the ex by any means, I'm just pointing out how this could be played better and that being a housewife (or househusband, much like the MC may be better in with his skills in housework) doesn't make someone less of a person. What he's doing here is definitely not okay, and the POS deserves whatever is coming for him.

Played out better? It's showing the Ex as abusive, him wanting her to be a housewife was specifically for control purposes. It didn't in any way state housewife = bad.

We've had our disagreements before but I 100% agree with you here. It's nice to see a manga not go for the Japanese imperialist mindset of woman marry then become house wife.
