Plz don't tell me that this is trying to insinuate they are 'breaking up.'

There's only so many ways you can fuck this up mate, choose literally none of those ways.

You know, it's not like they need dad's approval anyway. They've already got Akemi's-the real top dog-approval. And dad clearly doesn't hate Jun, he's just got stupid self-imposed rules.

They could just ignore his wishes and date anyway, and gradually work towards beating dad down the line. I doubt he'd be picky if Jun only beats him 5 years into their marriage.

Alright, I was okay with what was happening so far, but this "I can't tell you to wait for me" crap pissed me off.

He's probably going to say "I don't know if I'll ever be able to beat your dad and you already waited long enough".
Anyway, after the confession I wanted to see the two of them being lovey dovey and embarassed in the most awkward way, not this shitty drama.

From what I can understand with his words, I think he meant that he knows the disparity between his prowess and Tomo's dad's. To say something like "Please wait for the time I can defeat your dad so we can start dating," Jun probably considers it downright selfish because he didn't want to make her keep a promise that has no defined time of conclusion. What if he couldn't defeat her dad for the rest of their high school years? What if he still couldn't defeat her dad when they graduate from college (or even if they can even go to the same college)? Was he selfish enough to make Tomo wait for him?

That's probably what he's thinking, not at all believing that Tomo has waited all this time for him to see her as a romantic interest. She's not about to give up now, and more than that, she's not about to let her dad ruin this chance further now that she already has it in her grasp.

In other words, more cliffhangers are upon us as the arguments and shenanigans mount. Maybe even a training montage. Either way, I'm hoping at least for a satisfying conclusion to it all.

@Lex79 Jun might throw him even further under the bus by saying something along the lines of: "I'm sorry Tomo, but your father doesn't approve of us"

But agreed, it's drama for the sake of drama, it's halfhearted at that.
