Was lowkey hoping that he would become so intent on studying, that he would inadvertantly end up in the top 10 ranking for their year.

Would be funny and something he could impress the future in-laws with

Having to go to remedial for scoring below an 80 is kind of wild lmao
Idk where you're from but it's pretty normal for high schools that focus on pushing out students that got into top university here in Vietnam. Some of those are considered prestige. But some special schools are basically just prison even though they serve the same purpose. The difference is that the prestige schools allow only top scorers in high school entrance exam in while the prison schools are basically reformation facility for dumbasses who still want to get into top universities. When I said prison, it's basically prison. The students are locked in there and only allowed to be home on weekends. They spent 12 hours a day just studying. You can quit if you want to btw.

Oh so MC has a twin-tail imouto, looks like we'll have an enabler sooner or later.

Anyway, I remembered back at my high school days, our passing score for tests is 60% but our final grade per subject required every semester should be 83%. I have to say it was nerve-wracking and fun at the same time, trying to meet that cut (I had classmates who got kicked out after the 1st year).

Some teachers are AHs
My PhD advisor was like this, it was hard on the students, but hell for the TAs. He would make test questions which were unreasonable for freshman to answer than threw a tantrum when the students did not understand and yell at his TAs that we gave the students too much credit. Once he was reading through a set of test yelling at the TAs for being to nice as it is " clear we did not understand his exam either", he grabbed the last test and told us that this person knew more than we did.... it was the answer key I wrote. This guy is why I still go to therapy.

Damn 80 scoring for a pass, i cant imagine the pressure for study in this kind of school... and at the same time club
Depends mostly on pace of the teaching. Under 80% means you get at least 2 out of 5 questions wrong. Which shouldn’t happen if you’ve understood the material. I’m more confused about places that make getting half the answers wrong a passing grade.

I wish teachers did that. I remember having a test where ALL the questions were nonsensical, and our lessons up to that point had no bearing on answering them. Every student flunked the test, and did the teachers own up to their failure?... Nope! :dogkek:
