Considering the length of the series so far and romcom, I'm wondering if this is accelerated progress cause of a looming axe-kun.
Doubt that, the manga's fairly popular in its magazine. Earlier this year the releases got more frequent, it was twice a month and now's every couple weeks. Plus recently the purchasable chapters got added to more official sites via announcement in the official twitter account.

There's also the fact that her other manga "Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta" is even getting an anime this year.
I don't think there's any real reason to expect an axe.

In fact with the rise of this manga's popularity i have a feeling there is a chance that sooner or later it's going to be adapted to anime soon (mark my words people) , to be honest i have mixed feelings for it , this manga is like a hidden gem that i want people to know about but at the same time i don't want it to become mainstream?

I was totally thinking " I get this gets an anime" at this point it has enough material for a one choir season.

I mean I know everyone is happy about this but does anyone else feel like this is too much of a leap in their relationship? I feel like they don't really know much about each other. I would of prefered more chapters with them hanging out and getting comfortable with each other before this. So far they've really only watched movies together.

I was thinking maybe she will agree to a trial relationship or being a practice partner. But her asking Takun if he had ever dated and how she seemed to be a little jealous of him being with other girls makes me think she might want to keep him to herself.

Though I don't know if that is because she likes him or she likes the attention he gives her.

I think it's only too soon if you're only comparing it to standard romance manga, where there's a slow burn over 150 chapters, most of it being filler. In real world terms they're actually really well aquainted by now and going out at this stage is reasonably realistic. Most teenage romances IRL have way less binding them than these two.

And even if they actually go out, not much will really change. They'll still take it slow and steadily learn more about each other. honestly i'm fine with this pacing.

aren't those two frequencies the exact same?
Not exactly. Twice a month means twice a month, meanhwile every couple weeks means that for example this March we get a chapter on the days 1, 15 and 29. One every couple weeks means a week with release and a week without release, on loop.

While I get what you mean but couple isn't used for that, Fortnightly is whats used for that normally and is prolly why it confused. But usually you only get 2 releases per month unless you get some lucky timing with couple/fortnight meaning.

It still is an increase in publication frequency, that's how they announced it in the official twitter account, I'm not talking under my own impressions or anything.

While there is progress being made, it would be premature to celebrate anything for now. Years ago, I knew someone who confessed to an older girl like this and got this same "I'll think about it" response. 3 days later, the answer was a rejection.

Knowing what this manga (and mangaka) is like, I think there's a fair chance it could go that way, and I'd be more surprised if it was an easy yes. In the mangaka's other work Suki na Ko it took like 90+ chapters to get them to start dating, and that was romance on easy mode, whereas the romance here is on hard mode by comparison.

I'm not sure which way it could go, the synopsis part "Enjoy this lopsided rom-com" means they'll probably get together in the end but how long will they stretch that point I cannot say. Like you I suspect most strongly though that it'll be a rejection here for now along the lines of "Not yet we should wait a while longer before going out".

I mean this is 28 chapters of them growing together, so for me it's not that much of a leap for me. They shuld know each other alot since they grew up together and lately they've been clearly starting to do things beyond just friends.

Also remember she's awkward and she knows she's a pain in the ass so her question back doesn't shock me either. I'd have been more skeptical though of the writing if he asked and she was like "Yes" saying "I'll think about it" while blushing fits her character.
I think the real turning point for Shia was when he gave her the diary of things he likes and when asked for what he dislikes about her, he was actually able to list things instead of the usual bullshit "I love everything about you." There's been subtle things pointing out her shift in feelings like her questioning whether or not it's right to be in a room alone with him. Damn this is some good shit. I could rack lines of this all day.
