Honestly it's a little messed up to think about, but the mark of quality for something like this is that your work kinda blends into the backgrounds and goes unnoticed. If it looks and reads like it was always meant to be this way from the start, you've aced it. If people notice anything about the scanlation, something's off. The number of people who didn't notice the scanlator was different is really just a sign of the good translation quality of both groups.

That's not a diss on anyone, that's just objectively speaking. Like the scanlation being good is a must, but sfx and redraws are quality of life things. It's appreciated when it's present, but if not, then the casual readers/the majority won't mind it as long as the scanlation of the dialogues themselves are good. That's just how it is.

The thing is I absolutely noticed something was off the second I saw the first page. Suddenly it's just disproportionately sized Wild Words everywhere instead of a variety of well-fitting fonts, mistranslated and non-redrawn sfx, and some clunky phrasing (which Ravengate has a few issues with as well, to be fair, but in a different, less obvious manner).

I get that most people don't particularly notice the effort scanlators put into their work because they don't see the differences or care enough to pay attention. Your response is reinforcing my point.

Is this the worst scanlation job ever that I've seen? No, far from it, but like I said, as a scanlator the difference is so obvious that people not noticing or caring is what hurts. It's no wonder official releases are moving closer and closer to be on par with MTL speed scanlators because for the readers it doesn't make enough of a difference either way.

...Do u know discord exists? I don't think that place exist just for nothing? Also there exists a recruitment section in every group, so if anyone thinks they have the capability to speedrun the chapters they could help out too, y'know? Sniping basically broke down the morale of whole group when we're consistent enough that I was doing a weekly release. Also as for people saying that quality is comparable, may I know what standards are you using for that? Bud didn't even bother to clean SFX, used basic fonting... Even no PR. Also "They were 3 chapters behind so I thought they dropped it" amazing...

He was really nervous, he wasn't sure what to do he plucked up his courage and she backed away. When you're out there and vulnerable like that, shit can be soul shattering especially when he assuming has no exp to fall back on.
