We've seen zealous the in-laws fluffing the protag before, but I don't think we've ever seen protag's parent x protag's parent fluffing like this! Gentlemen, we are reaching new frontiers of fluffing.

As Goro himself notes, Ginei and Chiaki have an incredibly healthy, loving relationship, even after 100 years as they approach their late middle age. Of course, if Goro realizes this, does this mean we'll see increased closeness between him and Kogane? Or, are we just waiting for the official proposal and marriage? Zanma-sensei certainly deserves to write the manga he wants, but I feel a kind of tension growing as I wait for either the marriage or for the spanner in the works. Also, Doji getting kicked for an end gag had me chuckling, even if I felt a little bad for him. Thanks as always to sarusa and Thumper.

Foxdad doesn't hesitate to buy the thing, he doesn't fear price nor feel embarrassment. He has mastered the pinnacle of husbandship being a husband.
Also, a glimpse of in-laws bonding at p.2, so very cute.
I have a feeling Goro mom already spilled the beans to Goro dad long ago. He probably dismissed it as nonsense, so the actual hurdle will be for him to realise that it's true and real. Still, better than being hit by that out of the blue

This manga is a nice change of pace from the usual 'everyone is so zany but also really fucked up' that side characters tend to get pigeonholed in. Aside from the magic and shapeshifting, most of the supporting cast is just normal folks trying to live their lives, and having the fox-parents-in-law be in what generally looks like a nice healthy middle-aged marriage is refreshing in a lot of ways.

It also helps that Dad has very fine taste in culture.

The B-couple that gets together before the main couple, the childhood friend couple, the clueless couple, etc. Instead, every person is treated more realistically, colored by their individual personality and experiences. This is why Toda's unlucky-in-love female club president stood out to me. She was such a stock character that she didn't feel like she belonged. Even though she only existed to make Yotsuyu jealous, I have come to expect more from this series. It sets a high standard for itself with its characters.

I hope for Akane to teach the happy couple the way of eternal life, now that they have something to live for.
