Yep. The only reasons they don't like curses are 1) the backlash, 2) looks weird, might tip off the humans. But stabby stabby is perfectly normal and healthy (for the stabber).

It's a Japan (and many other cultures) thing. Men wouldn't know how to do any of this stuff - because why should they, they'll have a maid wife? Obviously there are Japanese guys who can live just fine on their own now, but you still find some pockets of this attitude in the olds. The whole 'bridal training' thing is part of that, so I rolled with it. Though Kogane's Dad is nicely subverting that.

I'm teasing, but wives running a household and having a division of labor was perfectly normal and valid around the world until modernity and automation, and having a generational transfer of information on how to live effectively was a useful system. It's a separate issue from a cultural tendency to value demur and subservient women. Looking down on those skills hasn't gone away with this technological bounty though and now many people can't even cook or clean or make household repairs or raise children and we have service based civilizations.
