I'm really hoping that Stalker-kun does get turned into fried tofu. Not for the sake of justice, but to see what Goro's reaction is. The author is teasing that Goro will see the difficulties of living with a kitsune. So, let him see how they police themselves and handle criminals.

Yet he's also powerful enough to create a Barrier to keep Kogane trapped in. It's probably not so much a skill issue as it is he probably just hates humans to the point that he never took the time to fully perfect his own human form, but obsessed over Kogane to the point where he can create her form perfectly simply due to fantasizing about and probably stalking her for years.

low IQ criminal sociopath behavior. Good analogy with the real world animals, all kinds of species all over the world do that and it's often a successful strategy. Lions do this quite often too, kill the competing male, kill any cubs if there are any and now she is free to mate again. Good thing we sapient beings are more than just animals and will instead lean towards revenge in that position

Sadly there are real life people like this, I've seen them on the internet and even met a couple irl that had that "just beat her boyfriend up and she will leave him for you" type of mentality

It's certainly an interesting concept to explore of what a relationship with a Kitsune or any other yokai is like and all the baggage that comes with it.

It also brings up the fact that the Kitsune live far longer than humans do if we look at the parents. The mother is from the 1800s and the father is probably older or similar, so we're looking probably at that Kogane will probably outlive Goro well after his passing.
