I find it very sweet how much they care about each other now. Nadeshiko willing to give up her dream lab tour to see Kino home and Kino preparing to suffer through tea time because she realized how excited her friend is to see all the tech

I’m surprised that eating these monsters is so foreign to people not in the danger zones. Nobody even tested the monster meat for edibility?
The strangers are a relatively new phenomenon. It will likely take a nationwide famine (or on Kinokos case a strong rural isolation) for stranger cosine becoming normal since they are still preying on humans.

Okay. I'm vindicated partially. She really is just an idiot.

She at least seemed to have some suspicions about the situation but wellllllp.

Good luck everyone, you'll need it to survive karaoke 🎤 :salute:

I'll second the sentiment that humans will eat just about anything, but Kinoko is probably the only person who can kill a Stranger cleanly enough that it isn't ruined as food.

Also, everyone sitting around in awkward silence until someone accidentally started talking shop feels so real.

Oh dear, they're both as hopeless as each other. It's going to be a tough life being the (relatively) well adjusted person in the middle.

It could just be a social/cultural aversion due to the fact that, you know, these monsters have killed off more than 50% of the human race already (if I remember correctly). Plenty of religions/supersitions in real life involve dietary restrictions, so it's very believable that people wouldn't touch the things with a ten foot pole.

Additionally there may also be complications when it comes to the practicality of eating them. Farming is clearly out of question considering the strength of the monsters exceed what an average facility can handle. Harvesting edible flesh off of them could also be a tough ranker exclusive job with unstable yield as well. Most rankers we've seen clearly aren't interested in doing so and would be unlikely to comply with governmental pressure (they're quite independent and literally have superpowers).

There's also the obvious possibility that strangers might just be poisonous to a normal average human being.

I really love these 2 dorks. Hope we get to see more of them hanging out. eiri is just kinoko with more practice at talking and a lot more rehearsals.

Here's hoping that Eiri joins the friend group and doesn't end up being a villain like the last arc hinted at the end.
