For reminder, he became friend whith the bullies who actually tried to get him killed/crippled voluntarily and with the asshole who wanted to ruin his life and send an assassin unit after him after losing to him.

Sylphy was a jealous kid but she never meant to harm anyone. It makes way more sense for him to get along with her than the others. Plus, Sylphy can become a much more interesting character/ally for the rest of the story than the others.

And it's not like his masters can't just end his life within a second, whenever he recovers. Of course, after torturing him beyond a human's breaking point to get info out of him (or take it from him, if I understood Telomea's dark cleric skills' range appropriately).
