Who in the right mind standing up while being suppressed? Especially fixing a jammed rifle while standing up...
Did he in his right mind though? He's scared shit, exhausted, most likely lightheaded, and doesn't have enough oxygen in his brain.Who in the right mind standing up while being suppressed? Especially fixing a jammed rifle while standing up...
The technology in this world is similar to ours, just a few decades back so no "I bring you better technology" crap trope. Read fantasy isekai if that's what you want.I just remembered that our main character reincarnated. Shouldn't they be introducing stuff like crop rotation or starting a laundromat? Maybe next chapter.
Ahh now that you've said that... No one is in the right mind, except the trained ones...Did he in his right mind though? He's scared shit, exhausted, most likely lightheaded, and doesn't have enough oxygen in his brain.
Even trained people can have different competencies, some better than others. Not everyone can be an elite operative. This guy probably barely passes his practical training, and the higher-ups just need cannon fodder or might be short of people to choose from since everyone is dying.Ahh now that you've said that... He has every aspect that makes bad rumors easy. His people are (relatively) quiet, look beaten up(they are), but aren't afraid of most things. Garback repeatedly ignores orders to achieve gains that have to be rewarded. He's disrespectful as all heck to everyone without breaking rules.Imagine being in the group with the lowest rate of casualties, and still dying? You'd have to have stupid bad luck from that.
Also, if Garback's group has such a good grade, why is his reputation so bad? I'd rather deal with his angry ass so long as I get to live the longest.
Upcoming spoilers for maybe 10 chapters from now?The enemy is quite competent, the Commander here is just way too OP. Fairly soon, the enemy is going to break through the trenches in a high stakes gamble and crush the MC's army, which leads to months of her being on the run and them trying to stall the enemy advanceHonestly I wish the enemy was portrayed as more competent than they actually are rather than something to be mowed down like cannon fodder, it just devalues the enemy and makes the series more meh the more you notice it. Also the commander has WAY too much plot armor.
Thanks for the TL though and lovely series overall.
I also don't like how the author portray the enemy as just a bunch of savages. Kinda hope they get a bit screentime to show their side of story. But I don't think it devalues them. They are still very much deadly.Honestly I wish the enemy was portrayed as more competent than they actually are rather than something to be mowed down like cannon fodder, it just devalues the enemy and makes the series more meh the more you notice it. I didn't really get that impression. The Hero we had in earlier chapters was actually much less barbaric looking than "Our" Hero, Garbarck. He was a clean looking guy while Mr. G is a screaming berserker. The Troops design is a bit different though, it feels like a "Northern Country" attacking a "Far southern country".I also don't like how the author portray the enemy as just a bunch of savages. Sure the commander is almost untouchables, but not with everybody else. Touri and everybody else are still constanly getting hurt and some lost their life. Some of them are people that valuable to Touri like Sasa.
Almost any character we know can die anytime. That's the kind of story this is.
Anybody else here who practices firearms handling and small unit tactics can probably attest to this, but all this stuff requires tons of training.Even trained people can have different competencies, some better than others. Not everyone can be an elite operative. Amphetamines were given to troops to increase alertness. They had the added benefits of reducing appetites and fatigue. Nazi Germany, in particular, embraced amphetamines during World War II. From April to July 1940, German service members on the Western Front received more than 35 million methamphetamine pills. German troops would go as many as three days without sleep during the invasion of France. In contrast, Britain distributed 72 million amphetamine tablets during the entire war.[6]
