MC could be just living in peace like this if he hadn't gotten conceited and volunteers for a war thinking his fps skills would help him

Even if they didn’t go, pretty sure they’re still living in poverty or something—I mean, you’d still be able to see the effect of war even as far out as where the MC lives probably, no? Also because of what they said where if they died, the orphanage may get compensated/reimbursed or something for their death. Think that’s also a hint that they don’t have enough money. It would also make sense considering a lot of the money in the country probably goes to the war too, instead of the people.
