Not really, because it establishes that Tsubasa is in the hospital, which indicates that she'd be close by, but she's still weak to other girls making advances on MC. It also develops Sousuke's and Shiiki's relationship and foreshadows it as a possible development, which both establishes her as being rather cunning and perceptive, and what steps will come after this. I still don’t get why they just don’t tell the police everything. They’d be able to protect them and just telling the truth should clear your name, not to mention open up the case to catch the actual criminal. But then we’d have no plot
