Ugh! Another chapter with creepy Toba.

@Mayadee
No dramatic plot, no annoying characters in sight, likeable MCs, beautiful art. I just adore this manga.

You must be kidding. If you still believe this by the end of the series, I'll have to conclude that you have a serious case of 2nd Lead Syndrome.

@FredFriendly - came across this one randomly and was scouting the horizon before reading >> is this one of those shoujo mangas that has a second guy show up and massively invade the main couples relationship/ constantly flirt with and harass the girl
(Typically while she does literally nothing about it -- not even setting healthy boundaries, worried about losing him as a "friend" )

@StaK You nailed it perfectly! Yes, it follows that well-worn, clichéd storytelling path. The translations are already up to chapter 49 (with only 4 more to go) and the obnoxious, arrogant 3rd wheel hasn't given up yet. If you haven't started on it yet, I'd recommend that you stay away unless you feel like venting some anger.

@FredFriendly ugh it's always the same. That shit definitely pisses me off.

If thats how it is then I wont start this one for now, I'll throw it in the Maybe pile and check back in later to see if the characters pull their heads out of their asses// if the main guy and main girl end up happy together at the end. Let me know if it happens anytime soon.

Oh wow "Perplexed Feelings" really?? Geez what a slap to the face for the Boyfriend. Id drop her ass faster than a ton of bricks. Why suffer emotional pain for some girl that can't even value your relationship enough to not have feelings for another guy.

And to anyone defending the "friend" you need to really reexamine what it is to psychologically manipulate someone, guilt trip them, sexually harass them, and ignore their boundaries. If you think his behavior is okay then you may need to speak with a professional because you have some very unhealthy views about harmful behaviors.

The Main girl needs to be upfront with the Main Guy about the "Friend" and tell the Friend to back off because she doesnt want that sort of relationship with him and he needs to respect her boundaries; also maybe keep your distance for a while - If the Friend can't accept that then hes got issues and isnt really much of a friend. If it comes down to losing the "Friend" then she needs to realize she cant have her cake and eat it too - if she wants to keep her lover (Main Guy) then she needs to tell the Friend that if he cant accept being only friends then she cant see him anymore -- I feel like alot of these girls treat the Main Guy as something theyve already got locked down, like no matter how much they fuck around wasting time with the "friends" bullshit the Main guy isnt going to leave --- she needs to realise who her priority is.

And the "Friend" needs to realise he's not being much of a friend and really hes just sexually harassing this girl while guilt tripping her into putting up with his bullshit - doesnt matter how nice he is in general thats predatory behavior right there.

And the Main Guy.... needs to smell that somethings up and figure out whats going on. Then he needs to kick the Friend's ass into next week and tell the girl that if she wants to be with him (main guy) that she needs to respect the fact that their relationship doesnt have room for a parasite. And if she doesnt want him (MG) enough to make him (MG) her priority, then clearly he's made a mistake about her and needs to move on. I can get why the main guy wouldnt want to just back out and let the "friend" step up and take his place, but if the friend can guilt trip the girl then so can the main guy, so the play is this:
>>Kick the friends ass, tell the girl to act like she fucking knows who her priority is, say sayonara to the friend (so he wont be swooping in to fill the MG's role), and then when all is said and done and some time has passed the Main Guy can think about the implications of these events and safely choose whether he still wants to be with this girl or not.

@FredFriendly Just because I have a different view with you about Toba here, it doesn't mean that my opinion is not valid.
And how come you conclude that I have a 2nd lead syndrome when in fact I'm a big supporter of Aki all the way?
It seems that you want to force your opinion on me.
If you don't like the way this story turns out and you hate one of the characters here, so why are you still reading it anyway (for 49 chapters?!)
If it were me I would've dropped it from the beginning. A total waste of time. And energy.

Thank you for the update!😁 and @StaK What manga are you reading because that's not even close to the story here. Oh wait! You haven't read it! Did you get your info from reading other random comments and opinions? Like reading the CliffsNotes and trying to write a thesis. 😒

I'm happy with aki tsubasa couple, but its kinda sad that toba havent move on yet 😅
I think this is just how Nana Haruta story always be. A female lead in relationship with male lead who is the best friend of second male lead that eventually fell in love with female lead

Yup, didnt read it yet! I was speaking to the general cliche trope - of which this is some variation I'm sure. I'd bet 5 bucks I'm somewhere in the ballpark with just a response to the cliches. Lol dissertation, took like 30 seconds to write. I knew it would upset some people, who like whatever character fills that friend slot in the cliche, and I'm okay with that.

There’s something a little bit comforting seeing the same commenters with metacomplaints about cliches across much of the manga with “school” and “romance” tags. It just goes to show that no matter how topsy turkey the world gets, there will always be commenters that believe every character would have the same perspective as the reader of the manga and would make cold and rational decisions.

@StaK In the ballpark? More like you hit one over the Green Monster with 3 men on base. And in some respects, it's even worse than other stories of this ilk with regard to the annoyingly persistent, arrogant (as well as sadistic) third wheel.

@FredFriendly lol well then Ill probably be the only one scoring anytime soon, given the way stories like this blueball the MCs

Yeah I saw the "sadistic" in the description for that character on the one page I looked at (relationship diagram page) - in this context it usually means pushy jerk with boundary issues.

Also saw that the FemaleMC was "unsure" or something about her feeling towards the 3rd wheel, which honestly just makes me feel bad for the MaleMC.
It won't happen but in one of these stories I'd love to see the MC dump the FMC (for not prioritizing their relationship and not setting boundaries for another man who openly is trying to get with her) and then have the FMC realise her mistake - see that the third wheel may be fun but that hes nowhere near as good as the MC - and then try to get back together with the MC. Since Im a sucker for happy endings Id probably want the MC to relent and reenter a relationship with the FMC (--but this time with healthier boundaries that wont leave one of them in constant emotional turmoil) Since if things remain the way they are the relationship will just become a source of pain rather than happiness.
