It's pretty weird seeing a training arc/segment without an upcoming threat looming ahead or a goal to work towards to, making it seem all mundane. I suppose I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and assume this is setup for a future resolution.

I'm glad to see training/leveling up w/o a specific reason. Makes much more sense. Vs trope fiction: "I'm going to attack you!!! ... In a month! Be sure to train hard so that you can beat me!"

Yes, and it's not 'worse' per se since it is the same sort of training as before (dispersing 'yourself' into surrounding)

The problem is to keep trying the new method he didn't do the 2nd step in archery part (collecting yourself back) and kept himself dispersed for so long he almost lost 'himself'

So basically if the previous archery incident was him 'dying many times', this one is him 'staying dead too long'

It does have a reason, but this technique is merely a step to the actual technique. The one he develops specifically for the evasive goddess is a "homing" skill which once launched, will chase it's target even across space.

He hits ON the release of each shot, turning the bug's apostle into a porcupine even ignoring those (like Hibiki and another) standing between where she's hit and where a shot hitting from that angle would have 'come from'.

Yh I read the porcupine scene. But it IS eventually for her.
