I hope the students pay off later in the story. And not just gone.
The short girl that has a crush on Shiki joins Tsige later. Not sure what happens to the other students though.

Not everything needs a reason...It's pretty weird seeing a training arc/segment without an upcoming threat looming ahead or a goal to work towards to, making it seem all mundane. I suppose I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and assume this is setup for a future resolution.
The quality would suffer imo.I really wish this manga was weekly. At this pace it will take SO LONG...
I like it, I'm not complaining about the manga. Just the pace, you know...
dam. i really hope they do the smart thing and release it physically. i need to add the series to my ever growing collection of booksHonestly I don't know, I've only heard about it. But I did some research, it's by Hanashi Media, 3 Volumes(out of 18) released this far. There is a digital release, but I don't know about the physical one.

They kinda are already paying off, Makoto is getting ideas on how to get stronger because of them. Like in this instance that he spoke about how one of them would use the remnant mana from a spell to help speed cast a second one.I hope the students pay off later in the story. And not just gone.
To any LN or WN readers, is Tomoe/Shin the second strongest of the dragons after Root/Luto?
