The brothel discussion reminded me about how little practical day-to-day magic there is in most RPGs. While I get that having lots of big flashy zaps to take out monsters would be a thing, there's very little in most games for things like fixing holes in socks, healing a sore back (as opposed to wounds from weapons or teeth) cooling off a hot room, cleaning bad smells out of the air, or--as noted in this chapter--magic to prevent pregnancy or disease.
