Holy crap, the mangaka really does this series justice. This section was written much worse in the WN. I don't remember any Mio spying or characterization in that part and instead we got a weird timeskip that went straight to the lich reveal. Even the whole brothel incident was more accidental in the manga compared to the novel.

Urk, now we have to wait all over again. The next chapter is going to be sooo good...

I understand why people dislike the MC but aren't there enough series about power fantasies and harems? I appreciate the fact that the MC remains as himself while trying to grow step by step. If a bit too slowly but I still like the series a lot.

MC was looking for flowers to grow and sell. (he works as a merchant) Got attacked by forest ogres/elves along with 3 other adventurers. MC beat the elves and had them invite him to their village. Village secretly tried to use the tree curse on the MC but failed. Demons have spies within the village to try to use the ogres against the humans. (the major plot revolves around a humans vs demons war) There's also a lich coincidentally in the village. MC captures the lich out of curiosity and decides to invite a few of the ogres to MC's own village to see if they can live together. (MC has invited Orcs, Lizardmen, Elder Dwarves and Spider people to his village so far)

To be fair, Orcs are probably the only monster they see and they're usually considered to be low-tier monsters. Of course we know these are Wasteland Orcs, which are much stronger, that have also been trained under MC's guidance.

I mean, the MC is literally about to interrogate the lich next chapter. I'd imagine almost every important detail would be answered then. Mondou was being possessed by the Lich who snuck into the village to study the forest ogres. Adonou's introduction was meant to give glimpses of the demon war, since that's the main plot.

@shlhebm I'd imagine the dispel didn't work because there is no human left to turn back. The minds have been so thoroughly destroyed that they've become trees permanently. I don't remember any cure being created and the tree curse is pretty much only relevant for this arc.

He was eventually able to find a solution with that tree punishment magic. Because it was the sole factor that delayed the Forest Ogres/Elves from migrating to Asora, and became a problem that Makoto wanted to solve no matter what as it interfered with the existence of a living being, and a threat to them. It's actually more powerful than the petrifying magic of the Gorgon-kin. For more details, it is chapter 110 of the web novel.

Can we stop this shit about "beta MC" shit? I can understand that you are fed-up about MC who love someone but don't do anything and even flee their love interest. Or MC who is just a victim who don't do anything.
This is not the case here. The MC is just not interested by his two follower because he see them as sisters. I'm certain you lot have female friends who aren't love interests and I do hope that you'll not f*ck them at the first occasion like a dog in heat.
And he do things at his pace. He just doesn't want to kill and threaten everyone.
If you want a horny beast that jump at every occasions or someone who kill every obstacle in front of him, there are plenty of other mangas and hentai for you.
