@xxxNothingxxx it's the classic, make him too overpowered to the point where nothing can fight him, but regret it later on since there will be no close fight, so you nerf him. He had enough mana to almost rival a god, but the author decided to nerf him.
I personally hate these kind of stories the most, either make him strong or don't, stop changing his power to fit your current narrative.

Tomoe was interested in Makoto's memories while Mio's hunger was satiated with Makoto's mana and would like to have more of it.
Makoto didn't actually defeat either of them. Tomoe didn't even intend to be in a master-servant contract with him in the beginning.

@Fredfred wow, you are an example of people who read diagonally and make conclusions on limited information, he was never that OP compared to the big shots in the story, Shin/Tomoe was not defeated, she could've killed him in the illusion before he got out but she surrendered because she found him interesting/memories/drama, Mio was never defeated she basically chose to feed on his mana and its easier to satisfy hunger if hes alive to generate that mana, there are quite a few characters in the story that can spank the current him with ease regardless of mana pool so hes not even that strong, and it was just explained that he sucks at using that mana pool, the rings actually helped him since they were like loaded bombs already. He has mana to rival a god ... so what does he know god level spells or have any god related knowledge? Man stop trying to fit things in your own narrative just for some made up reason to be a hater.

So basically you are wrong, the story is actually well thought out for most of these things, there are problems but you are nowhere near pointing them out. If ya dont like it just dont read,thats fair, but dont expect to not be called out when you straight out write made-up bullshit.

@FredFred I can give you all the heavy weaponry in the world, but if you don't know how to shoot a gun, you're probably gonna end up using an LMG as a club, and sucking ass
also, sophia >> tomoe and somewhat better than mio in terms of melee offensive ability, which is makoto's biggest weakpoint (sophia probably would lose to mio overall because mio doesn't die)
if it's a contest of mid-long range magic, makoto wins hands down even at this point, but in close range, makoto's only "up there," not "at the peak"

then combine it with disorientation from being suddenly teleported, much less close-combat (esp armed close combat) experience, and sophia pulling out some trump cards
and makoto didn't want to go full-force at start (goddess would be watching)

it's this one big ball of factors which is why makoto didn't instantly wreck face, and instead traded damage.
