Idols are usually young at the start (idk if there are still active idols in their “30s” which seems to be the cut off age for being considered “old” for some Asian Countries unless ur allowed to be a “normal” singer/musician and not “retire” with ur record company and don’t worry about being “pure” and can have a relationship if not some fake industry one with another celeb to boost each others names) but Spica-chan did say she was lying about her age for ten years so I imagine she might’ve gotten surgery to stay young if not just have good genetics (tho other than setting her up to be a bigger villain with more than one arc it’d be amusing if it’s like “burning ppl Alive gives me youth” but I don’t think that story would go too off the rails)

There have been plenty of animanga where a kid doesn’t necessarily live by themselves but the parents are never home so they might as well be, at 15 other than some huge emergency id think that’d be old enough for some ppl to live on their own within reason

Did you find any clues? it's a just a gender-less person with a hat, earbuds, pants and shoes. There was an affair though... maybe Anita works in the music industry and Yamaguchi performed favors for him? Maybe she ended up really liking him and hated that he had his own family? What would motivate a 12 yo (assuming abnormal) to attack this family?

I kinda hoped I could trace it back like detective conan or Kindaichi, but I guess I gotta wait for the next chapter to find the answer.

I'm kinda glad the plot twist wasn't that the retired Detective was actually the killer and he either murdered them without realizing it or just delusional like the teach.

It was also a time skip , there was a mention about her 'lying about her age for x' years so maybe she also got plastic surgery as well, even if she never got caught before/wore a disguise every time she arson'd somebody lol (although while ppl are trying to connect it to a neighbor/affair partner , maybe she was just a serial arsonist that just saw an opportunity rather than a personal target and set fire to other places/ppl before)

[Tho i can totally imagine some psych horror one shot about some 'unhinged' idol charismatic enough to borderline be a cult leader and like brainwashing if not just gathering enough followers to convince them to do a mass suicide or so]

IMO, nothing would make anyone suspect the idol except that they were mentioned more than once, with one of those being right before her declaration that he would soon know who the actual murder was. No real clues were given.

My biggest takeaway this chapter is that it makes my stomach hurt thinking about what the kind of whiskey that comes in a 5L plastic bottle must taste like.

The translator's notes said it's sold in that size for bars and other establishments use. I guess that's legal there.

I've been told by a couple of retired bartenders while in Total Wine that in Arizona (not sure about other states) bars are required to serve from 1 liter bottles (if available, I assume). This results in prices in stores sometimes being higher for 1 liter bottles than 1.75 liter bottles. For example, while with Tanqueray the 1L is technically not more than the 1.75L it might as well be:

Tanqueray 1L = $31.99
Tanqueray 1.75L = $32.69
