when it says "that's why I didn't expect him to do this" or whatever I think that's the manager aunt talking? since it follows right after their conversation about him inviting a girl, but I dunno it's pretty vague

Lol Well that was a nice bit of misdirection. I'm appreciative of the ploy, AND the deflection of that potential unnecessary drama. So far, it's a decent balance with this one, maybe a little drama heavy at times, but not to the point of drowning the themes in it and making it unpalatable.

Yeah, I checked the raw, and as usual with Japanese, there's no subject.

I think that sentence should be "that's why it never occurred to me that I would do this".
The text in the box should be Amami's monologue.
The manager aunt was asking if he has ever invited a girl.
He said nah.
That's why he monologues that he never thought he would ever forcefully invite a woman to his house to take a shower.

But as I said, there's no subject in the original Japanese.
