So she's just... never going to get to contribute anything of value, I guess. Even after that whole conversation they had about getting stronger, and she's immediately useless again. Her whole deal is getting really old really fast

Although, honestly, it's not just her. All of their personalities are really grating on me at this point. I dug the original premise of this, but the series has not yet managed to do anything particularly interesting with it. I think a lot of the reason is that the main characters are pretty shallow and uninspired.

I'll probably give it another couple of chapters to improve, but that's about it.

As expected, they saved "that" scene for the next chapter. Oh well. In any case, rereading through the manga version after finishing up the first two volumes of the light novel, I now remember how much I disliked Wise in the beginning. One of the worst examples of a tsun with no dere.

She does get better in the next volume (Masato learns how to deal with her shitty antics) but from the looks of things, it might be a while before we reach that part of the story.

In the end though, it's Mamako who carries the series hard in the beginning and the manga version seems to know it.
