@HeroicPasserby If the issue is realism, then there are a couple of questions that need answering:

Does the fantasy race have a higher base body temperature or some other form of cold resistance? Does their culture consider borderline nudity to be shameful? Are they a mage or speed-based fighter?

Dark Elves and Female demons almost always wear very little for various reasons depending on the lore, magic usually solves the issue of practicality.

Aside from all that, most people tend to love half-naked fantasy women, and sex sells, so it would behoove them to cater to us.

A lot of the authors I like tend to have convincing reasons, for example, In one of the fiction I'm currently reading, Dark Elves wear less the higher their position in society is, and what "clothing" they do wear has more powerful enchantments to advertise their power and status, it also serves as a tool of seduction considering they all look like sex-goddesses, it's a theocratic matriarchy BTW
