the history of ui beam
Birth of Ui Beam:
The origin of the Ui Beam first dates back to Mar 14, 2020. The Vtuber, Ui Shigure, had a collab stream with fellow Vtuber, Kenmochi Toya. During their Tetrix99 stream, they notice a player with the name "please sing Fansa. In case you don't know, Fansa is a popular song made by honeyworks and is featured in the popular franchise, Confession Executive Committee. The person who sung the song in the short animation of Confession Executive Committee was a character named Mona. And in the lyrics, there is the line "Mona beam." Seventeen days later, Ui Shigure held a karaoke stream where she remembered that player's name. In memory of that player's request, she decided to sing Fansa. But when the line "Mona beam" came, she replaced it with "Ui Beam" instead. And thus, the Ui Beam is born.

Ui Beam Gains Power:
Afterwards, many vtuber friends of Ui Shigure begin to tease her heavily about the Ui Beam. They wanted her to use the Ui Beam line a.k.a shoot the Ui Beam but she wasn't too fond in using it. And because of her reluctant to shoot the Ui Beam, her fans became obsessed with wanting to see her use it. They even go as far as using word play disguised as fan messages to trick her into shooting the Ui Beam. She, however, never gone around to using it regularly. She even tease her fan mercilessly by shooting it half way. Thus, her fans are even more pent up on not having their daily dose of Ui Beam.

Watame steals Ui Beam:
Back in 2019 when the Vtuber Watame Tsunomaki first debut on December 25th, a lot of people thought that Watame was Shigure Ui due to how similar their voices and demeanors are. Fortunately, both of them are two separate people but the gag of them being the same person never left their side. They would sometimes pretend to be one another to fool their fans and other Vtuber friends which eventually lead Watame to inherent the Ui Beam. Because Shigure Ui never use the Ui Beam, fans begin to turn to Watame to release their pent up obsession. With a voice similar to Shigure Ui and the fact that she's not bothered at all in shooting the Ui Beam, Watame was the perfect outlet for the fans. But because Ui Beam officially belongs to Shigure Ui, Watame sometimes get in trouble for shooting the Ui Beam and would only shoot it in secret.
