It's always an option to just pour one glass and then take the bottle away, back into the closet. If you ask me, it does seem kind of weird to celebrate a child's first school day by drinking until you pass out. Children can't drink, so alcohol shouldn't be the primary way to have fun in any occasion related to them. But then again, that's nothing but my opinion.
