I’m still confused by the timeline, is the regular story set in present times or the future? If he was 20 then he’d be 75 rn so are all the future advancements made in like 15 years or is he older than 90? Someone pls explain.

@Luke_chase I think that the regular story is set in the future, and that they met in the present times (so this chapter is probably set in the last decade so 2010-2019 probably). The regular story seems like a not so distant future so he must be like 75, he's still quite lively

This isn't WW2, it should have been clear given the advanced robots (I just realized it myself). First chapter also gives a glimpse of Tokyo with flying cars and other advanced shit. The past few flashback chapters are probably around our time, and the "current" time for them is like decades later, nearing or perhaps in the 2100s.
