I forgot when Kanoko got that shield apparatus, need to give a reread.

This feels like such a quintessential boss fight... and it is horrifying outside of game context, the monster is static but has a lot of reach in a closed space, and it still has ranged attacks.

I really like the colouring, but I have to concur that the style is out of place. This is a bleak world so having these occasional super saturated panels feels jarring after just under thirty monochrome chapters. Might work better if it was fully coloured or if this gimmick was present since the start, though, regardless, I would go for a very dark and muted palette personally.

Talked a bit with the artist that did the colored version. I was already thinking about only doing the next chapter in black and white, because like you said it fits the world atmosphere better. So yeah the next chapters won't come out in color. PS: If you still want to see the colored pages go read the Indonesian version.
