Soon, an underground market for scented erasers sprung up, throwing the elementary school into unparalleled chaos and lawless disorder.

Funnily enough, it was scented pens on my area. People put a stop to it once rumors started spreading that it contained some sort of drugs...that they sell regularly to children. Sure.

It was proven to be hoax, but many more insists it was real because the rumors spread like unchecked wildfire and some people figured out that 'oh, we can actually smuggle drugs on it'. I'm on the camp that believed it was a hoax, but people will march to my house with torches and pitchforks if I say that publicly.

I actually hate these things. The smell gets into my hand and I might as well sniff some Glue if I want to get addicted to something.

Welp, erasers weren't the only things that were scented way back when; and if I recall, there were (are?) those little round things like silica gel that kids could use to put scents in anything.

Well, it's not THAT far from sniffing glue since essential oils used for scenting dissolve lipid membranes of HEB in the same way alcohol does. To the point ether was used as an anaesthetic, especially in obstetrics, for quite a while.

You'd need a larger concentration of the stuff, tho, unless you have a specific condition.

I remember those scented eraser back in the 80's. I was in Primary School(7yo-12yo) at that time.
Some of the eraser's smell so good make you want to take a bite at it hoping it gonna taste as good as the scent was.
And in my Secondary School(13yo-17yo or extend to 19yo if you're going for Form 6[2 years]) years, it was the scented pen. It became popular among teenagers, especially those that started to experience love. A lot of love letters written with those scented pen.

Some kid in my class used to trade this shit back then. I traded some of my Yu-Gi-Oh cards for those erasers. Some of them are cards like Dark Magician and Blue eyes white dragon....
