It really is the issue if you like reading high-quality work though. L1v isn't getting "harassed" by anyone, that's something you made up on your own by stepping in and defending them on everything. Zephyr/Luna & Kora are here spitting facts and defending themselves.

Maybe if you'd pay a little more attention and read everything L1vs Translations did with more than a single braincell you'd notice the difference.

JustKorra is correct, as a scanlator myself, I wouldn't want anyone discourage high-quality work being put out.

From my experience in scans, usually the group who wants to pick up a series asks for the permission of the original group to continue on. If there's no response or activity from the group, then I'd say that's a green light, but Zephyr has been active within the past month.


Both Zephyr and l1v claimed the series at the same time 3 months ago (August 22nd 2024), so it's pretty fair for them both to be translating. That scenario would be a "competition," not sniping.


As for this series, l1v did not start on the first chapter; they simply just took over on Chapter 17. Additionally, I don't believe Zephyr has ever sniped/taken over a series where a Scanlation group was in the middle of working on it. I would sympathise a little more if it were Scylla who had "sniped" this series, as they also started from Chapter 1 two years ago.


I apologize, that was a misconception on my end. It appears this series is the first time they have done something of the sort.
Just to be clear, I am defending neither party. Just chipping in my two cents as a Scanlator.

The thing is, that first chapter and 0.1 chapter were done at the same time, but I was there when l1v made the page, AND posted chapter 0:
For whatever reason I can't ever post images here, but if you look at the chapter 0 here you'll see who got the whole thing going:
Chapter 0 was done by l1v a month earlier.

I'm not actually one to fight these fights, but as you can see reading through this thread people are pretty nasty about how "low quality" l1v's stuff is (and then coming up with really minor things to nitpick at as an excuse).

L1v doesn't comment on this stuff, they don't even have a commenting account. And I know how much work they put into stuff.
Lunaa and Korra seem to be in some sort of mean girls clique and want to bogart all the titles, regardless of their ability to actually keep up to date on them. Like why is Zephyr even doing Foxes? To prove a point? They aren't up to date on the other zillion series they work on!

All I've said was "Not to be mean or anything, BUT you should try to improve your bad typesetting skills" and that their translation skills should be improved too and to not stick to the orginal chinese punctuation. And i even sent them a guide to better improve their typesetting.
