ngl harukas carrying them so hard
Still, it's reassuring to have a walking cheat code in your party, you can raise your rank and skill little by little, and it could be an assurance as well. In case something goes wrong and the situation looks dangerous, she can just protect the party by herself so no one will have to get injured...

Ranks in fantasy world guilds are questionable at best but this ranking system really seems strange....
It's 1-10, with 1 being strongest and 10 being weakest, right? That much makes sense, but how does needing to be at the halfway mark, rank 5, to actually do adventurer stuff make sense?

Haruka gets the kill, but Montana gets the win due to coming up with a plan that would have, at the very least, let everyone escape even without Haruka, at least if they didn't fixate on attacking instead of retreating once their first few hits did nothing. Neutral score for Corin, who didn't contribute much but also did nothing wrong.

Al needs help. Got careless and stumbled into the boar in the first place, taking group credit for the obvious hard carry, and, as his continued low rank shows, is slacking overall, even compared to Corin, who really shouldn't be that far ahead of him.
I think the main thing affecting Alberts ranking is his work ethic. In chapter 7 we see him actively getting told to stop slacking off by either the client or job site boss. Corin may not have put up much of a showing with this boar; but she probably busted her butt on the guild town chores.
The only reason why MC is higher than the rest as a beginner with the town jobs is her ability for arithmetic and writing, and the body strength magic.

Albert seems to only want to do adventures and quests, but to the guild, he's just a guy that speaks a lot but doesn't contributes to the city nor the guild. If someone won't carry crates when asked, you can't be sure he will collect the right medicinal herbs or hunt the right animals

I'm not sure it's a good thing for them to get a rank up when they're quite obviously being carried by her. Despite her incredible magic, Haruka is obviously inexperienced so it's a good thing to start from the bottom and learn the ropes even for her. The others do show promise, since they managed to trap the boar and that means they can survive such encounters with a monster that requires at least rank 4, but they need to build up their strengths.
I thought the same thing at the time, but having read the light novels at this point, I can tell you
they definitely get around to holding their own very well. Even if they still act like children while doing it

The novel gives better context but basically the first 3 ranks are just temp work requests from around town to give people with low experience or combat potential decent paying work to make a living and establish trust with the guild regarding capabilities and work ethic, hence why the chapter before was mostly them helping out with construction and carrying cargo (its also the reason Corin was raising rank slightly quicker than Albert since shes good with money and calculations instead of just being hired muscle).

to quote the novel (ch 23):
Requests involving combat began to appear around the seventh rank. Conversely, it meant that even without fighting, one could earn enough money to live every day. For Haruka, if she could live without fighting, she didnt mind staying like this...

...Lower-ranked adventurers were like errand boys. It was a period to determine if they were trustworthy, useful, and in what areas they might be useful. Conversely, if someone could gain trust and be useful, their rank would rise quickly. Keeping Capable people stuck in lower ranks would be a waste.

TLDR:
Rank 10-7 is handyman temp work around town to make a living and earn the guilds trust
7-5 can be trusted to handle basic subjugation and gathering tasks outside the settlements perimeter
5+ can be trusted to do long distance tasks like escorting between towns or doing deeper expeditions into the wilds
Rank 2 is generally the peak of what an seasoned veteran adventurer can achieve without magic of somekind (Ralph was rank 2)
Rank 1's generally have all the experience and knowledge of rank 2's in addition to potent magical strength of some kind
Special Rank (not explained in the manga) are the stupid OP people who do things like punch kings and get away with it
