The lore dropping continues, though. Cute moments eddying with the heavy, with the undercurrent as deep and ominous as ever.

But Hinako seems more smiley than ever, and toward Shiori specifically. And they don't feel like forced smiles, either.
It's just nice to see.

Man, I love to see the character development from both of them

Shiori has learned to communicate and consider her actions, and Hinako has learned to accept people's care and express her own care for them

Miko is the GOAT for real for giving them both a little 'therapy talk'

I also really liked the development of our perception of Shiori as a character. In the beginning, I was super sus of her intentions and worried about what she'll do. But as time went by we come to understand how nuanced and kind she actually is, that she's actually someone who's stumbling as she traverses her way through the world and relationships because of how unfamiliar she is with them.

I was pretty paranoid about that girl at first as well but now I'm wondering if perhaps that's more meant to show Shiori trying to view humanity as something other than meat, trying to be more like Miko. It feels like a lot of the current developments have been about her growth as a character so to have her kill someone would kind of undo all that. Plus I feel the school would notice if a student just went missing all of a sudden.

Though I could see a scenario where Shiori put a spell on the girl to make her stay away from Hinako, wishing to monopolize her which I think is a bit more in line with how she's been behaving as of late.

Also you have to feel for Hinako, how many spells does this make planted on her? Beginning to wonder how much of her life actually happened and how much has just been Yokai screwing with her.
