Sometimes the more difficult thing is staying by the person you love when the going gets tough, and even in this fantastical scenario I feel that rings true. Shiori is more human than one can imagine by wanting to take the way out that she thinks would be easier for Hinako (and probably herself as well), and while it’s a reasonable idea given the guilt she’s experiencing, it would definitely do more harm than good for both of them

I hope Hinako expresses that to her next chapter

Hinako has never been very open about her feelings but I really hope she reinforces what Miko said, that she needs shiori around. Even if shiori is going to be the one to end hinako’s life (doubtful), shiori needs to be there for now as an emotional crutch.

Hinako has always gone with the flow, she’s a passive character by nature, not putting up any resistance to the sleepover idea as a small example. She rarely speaks her mind or fights for what she truly wants, so whatever her talk with shiori turns into, hopefully it will be a way for Hinako to be vocal about what she actually wants/how she feels.

Shiori's love for Hinako is more of a familial than romantic, very much like how Miko feels for Hinako. She is more like an emo daughter than a love interest, their goal is for Hinako to live happy (very parent like)

While they both act like they can stand the other, they use Hinako as a guise for to show their concern, very tsundere
In this very chapter Miko does this twice

The end of this story is probably the most satisfying, unless Hinako becomes ageless like them, she will live her life to the end, and all thats left for the two is eachother

what are you talking about? shiori is extremely clearly deeply romantically in love with hinako and not miko. wanting someone you're in love with to be happy is extremely normal.

Also, Miko cares about Shiori out of friendship, she’s said that before. Right now, literally, Miko says it loud and clear: if something happens to you, Hinako will never be okay again. Miko knows right now that those two love each other and that the only way for Hinako to be okay is to be with Shiori because the smiles they have are only with her, and Miko knows that, sees it, knows that Hinako should be with Shiori because they love each other. We just have to see what happens next in the conversation in the next chapter because it’s sweet that Hinako can’t sleep worried about her Shiori. We’ll see what she says, but I feel like Hinako will honestly show that she wants Shiori by her side. A confession would be nice, but at least her saying that she’s only happy because Shiori is there would be something nice to see.

Even so, this is already something more than just social skills. Shiori feels something that anyone would naturally feel; it's only with Hinako that she's been able to talk more and better, and you can even see that fluid conversation in chapter 47 and all that. It's just that, of course, Shiori wouldn't tell Hinako that—she feels guilty... and what's more human than feeling guilty if you think you're causing problems for the person you care about most (yeah, this is projection lol). That's why obviously she wouldn't say anything. But Hinako cares about Shiori enough that she can’t sleep because she knows she’s not okay, enough to want to talk to her to make her realize that Hinako is happy because of Shiori. The accident is literally someone else’s fault. Maybe Azami caused something to happen to Shiori, but even that didn’t hurt Hinako; she literally worried more about Shiori’s arm wound than about some crazy person who almost killed her lol. I just want Hinako to tell Shiori the good things because there are many that Shiori has given to her, that there are many, but the biggest one is being able to smile again and be alive; that's for Shiori, and it would be nice if Hinako told Shiori everything she feels and did it for her.

there's something deeply poetic and tragic about this manga that i really, really love. i can't exactly specify what it is though. my top 5 story across all media for sure, i hope we get to see second season of the anime one day
