This one of the few manga that makes me really believe the whole "he played this like a game before" situations. The smiling, the attitude, the comments about speed-running the boss before, it's all very fitting. It's well-done.

I think it's mostly because aside from Kaoru only Tachigi has some development, but he's not a good character either.
No one likes the Hero's Team.
And every heroine so far aside from Sera is leagues better than Kaoru.

The last fight I found exciting was the Wolgemut [Unique Boss] fight. And that was almost a year ago.

I hope it won't be another year before a boss fight or a fight that requires him burning fat at the very least.

He needs to at least have the respect of a regular classmate, it's been fucking atrocious. The fact he internally is meant to be a super autist addict of this MMO that 100% would be the foundation of his self esteem and self confidence and he seems to have no desire to reflect that at all in this universe outside of a few specific combat encounters. It's just so lame.

I would like to hope so, honestly for me if he had some respect from his classmates and those in school and was the lynchpin of their development that'd at least make it feel worthwhile to spend so much time focusing on them. Dude is like the fifth most important character...
